OMG! I get an aesthetic shock like tihs about once a decade... What an amazing piece of music! I've long been a fan of Pezzner and this is IMHO his best work yet!

“Sunrising is my first record in almost two years. If the pandemic taught me anything, it illustrated how many facets of our lives need the support of others in order to sustain themselves. My creativity had unknowingly lived in an ecosystem that relied on the support of this very delicate social, economic, creative, and family life balance. But here we are. I took a break and have returned a humbled and patient artist.
When you listen to this record, if you listen very closely, you will hear my inspirations after some time immersing myself in the sounds of musical theater, jazz, big band, Latin soul, mambo, and post-disco. With this record, I adapted an approach to songwriting that left my comfortable processes behind and leaned heavily into writing and arranging for larger ensembles. This tune took me months of short sessions, and with so many mixdowns, and alternate versions, I enlisted the assistance of my friend and trusted engineer, Fred Everything to deliver a final mixdown of this project.
The remixes here are interpretations by my label partner Doza, and Fred Everything. Both tunes are equally appropriate for their moments on any dance floor. On the flip, we have my cover of Herb Alpert’s disco classic, “Rise”.

David Brian Pezzner was born in Tarzana, California in 1975 and currently lives in Seattle, Washington. He is 5 foot 7
inches in height and weighs about 165 lbs. His brother, Bill works at the Port Of Seattle and has four children. Bill’s wife owns a local publication and is a skilled bicyclist.
Pezzner speaks only English and cooks meals on most days.

Magic in its purest form. I love Floating Points, I love Pharoah Sanders, I love The London Symphony Orchestra. It's a match made in heaven, and the result is absolutely gorgeous. I have loved this record since its release, and realized I don't own it for some reason. So its time to change that. 9.5/10 honestly could become a 10/10 on an indepth vinyl relisten.
